Dr. Beatrice Mwilike

Dr. Beatrice Mwilike is a distinguished midwifery and women’s health expert. She is currently a Lecturer and former Head of the Department of Community Health Nursing at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS). Dr. Mwilike holds degrees in nursing and a Master’s and Doctoral degree majoring in Midwifery, as well as a postgraduate diploma in the Management of Foreign Relations, enabling her to foster international collaborations in healthcare.
Dedicated to maternal health, Dr. Mwilike has led numerous initiatives to advance midwifery education and practice in Tanzania, collaborating with both national and international partners. She pioneered a research project, MKUNGA KITAANI, that provides mobile antenatal care to underserved communities in the Pwani region.
As a mentor and academician, she has supervised over 25 Master’s students and published extensively. Her research contributions can be accessed on ResearchGate and Google Scholar.
As President of TAMA and mentor of TASMA, Dr. Mwilike is committed to strengthening midwifery services and improving maternal and newborn health outcomes in Tanzania.
